Just a Few More Days Until Departure....

It's hard to believe, but after talking and praying about this for months, we are just a couple of days before departure for the Dominican Republic! On Monday, May 11th, 16 of us will step off of a plane in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to embark on a 10-day adventure that will provide us the opportunity to use sports ministry, children's ministry, and youth ministry as a platform for the Gospel.

The team is comprised of nine current Lady Pioneer basketball players from Northland International University (Abbey Armstrong, Lydia Hodak, Ally Jacobs, Jenna Kurtz, Brianna Leverson, Lisa Nichols, Taylor Ollila, Brittany Scott, and Becky Thomas), two former players (Julia Becker and Kate Babcock), our team manager (Kristy Legg), a member of our Fine Arts faculty (Jennifer Renner), Coach Denny Scott, my daughter Emily and me.

  2. Hello,
My name is Amanda Metzler, and I am Jenna Kurtz's cousin. I live in Santiago, DR, and Jenna and I had been talking about the possibility of me coming to watch one of your games. In looking at the schedule, I noticed that you will be in Hato Mayor. Do you know if that is the Hato Mayor that is very close to Santiago? If it is close to Santiago, could you tell me the name of the place where you will be playing the game? I would really like to come if possible. I will check back here to see if you have responded. Thank you so much!!

  3. Hey Amanda
In looking at the map, Hato Mayor is quite a distance from where you are, and there is no guarantee of a gme there on Saturday. We will be doing a clinic and likely scrimmage. However, the games in Santo Domingo are set (electricity cooperating :)). I understand it may be a matter of you being able to come on a Saturday and not another day. I'll let you know more details when I get them. Thanks for asking!
